Meet Kembo Samuel

Kembo was born in Mengo Kisenyi Slum and he is an orphan. Now 12 years old, he joined KJT in 2004 and is the Captain of the Under 14s Team. He is a very talented defensive player who puts much effort into improving his skills.

In his own words :

As an orphan i feel that i miss parents although i get happiness from kampala junior team, but as you know when you are still young you always think of mum and dad which does not apply to me because they are not here. but nevertherless am glad that Coach kabugo picked me to be one of his players and am happy to be the captain of U14 its gives you courage and responsible when you are a captain you always feel that there are many who trust you.
i always dream of playing football in big teams in Europe although i find no sponser to take me there.
but i belive God will make it for me.
Life here is not so easy as you have to struggle to get education, and you need education, food, clothes, and water, medicine all kinds of care which is too hard to get as an orphan.
My challenge is to encourage all young street boys, slum boys and girls that they always dont give up in their ambitions and they should have an ambition once they are out of streets.

  1. Kembo Samuel, reading this story I was touched. I might have nothing to offer for now but I pray to Tororot, the God of the Rising Sun, to grant you your wishes. Be strong. Be hopeful. You never know, God will surprise you abundantly.

    Kind regards,
    Salem Lorot
